The Commissioner of Transparency and Public Access to Information of the Canary Islands annually evaluates the transparency portals of public entities in the Archipelago. The results for the University of La Laguna for 2025, as in the previous year, have reached the maximum possible score, achieving a 10 in the Canary Islands Transparency Index.
This report assesses the degree of clarity, ease of access, and quantity of data offered by the University on its Transparency Portal, a fundamental requirement for all public institutions seeking to ensure a closer relationship with citizens.
The score of 10 is broken down from the exhaustive analysis of four sections. In the Mandatory Information Compliance Indicator (ICIO), the ULL achieved 6.75 out of 7 points. In the Web Support Compliance Indicator (ICS), it obtained 2.93 out of 3. The Active Publicity Compliance Indicator (ICPA) reached 9.68 out of 10, and in the Voluntary Transparency Indicator (ITV), 0.70 out of 1 was recorded.
The ICIO indicator is the most detailed, covering sixteen dimensions: Institutional, Organizational, Elected members and free appointment personnel, Public sector employment, Remunerations, Regulations, Services and procedures, Economic-financial, Assets, Plans and programs, Public works, Contracts, Agreements and management assignments, Aid and subsidies, Statistics, and Right of access. Each dimension is measured on five aspects: Content, Last update date, Reusability, Publication format, and Accessibility.
The ICS indicator analyzes the location of public information on the web, its accessibility, structure, and the presence of a search engine. For its part, the ITV focuses on the existence of regulations and institutions regarding transparency and other public interest documentation.
The ICPA, although not detailed in the report, refers to the fulfillment of the duty to actively publicize relevant information, an aspect that the University of La Laguna also satisfies.
