The University of La Laguna (ULL) has stated that its handling of an alleged workplace harassment case involving a professor was carried out "in accordance with the law," following established protocols and ensuring due process.

The academic institution in Tenerife detailed that, following the initial harassment complaint, the corresponding protocol was activated. This process included an external expert assessment that led to disciplinary proceedings against the individuals named.
However, the university clarified that the process concluded with a recommendation for dismissal, as "no evidence of responsibility was found in the accused parties."

Subsequently, the ULL initiated disciplinary proceedings against the professor in question due to a series of complaints regarding alleged non-compliance with teaching obligations. These complaints included a complete academic strike by students in the degree program she taught.
Currently, this second disciplinary file is suspended, as the professor is not actively working. These statements from the ULL come after the Canary Islands Education Workers' Union (STEC-IC) publicly criticized the institution's actions, arguing that the worker had not been adequately protected.
