Update on La Gomera Bus Accident: One Fatality, Three Seriously Injured

The Canary Islands Government's Ministry of Health has confirmed the casualty toll following the incident on the GM-2 road.

The Canary Islands Government's Ministry of Health has released an updated balance of the bus accident on the GM-2 road in La Gomera, confirming one fatality, three seriously injured, and 21 medical discharges.

The incident occurred when a tourist bus plunged down an embankment at kilometer two of the aforementioned road, triggering a large-scale emergency response to assist those affected.
According to the official health report, three individuals sustained serious injuries and were transferred to hospitals in Tenerife. Two of these patients remain admitted to the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria, while the third was moved to the Hospital Universitario de Canarias.
The majority of those involved in the accident, a total of 21 out of 28 affected individuals, have been medically discharged after receiving attention. However, three people continue under observation at the Hospital Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, presenting injuries of varying severity.
Concurrently, the General Directorate of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands, in accordance with the Territorial Emergency Plan for Civil Protection of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands PLATECA, has concluded the alert status for a multi-victim accident.
