The Güímar City Council, in collaboration with the Titsa Base Unionists committee, has agreed to create three new bus stops adapted for people with reduced mobility, in addition to improving existing ones.

This initiative stems from a proposal by the Titsa Base Unionists committee, which seeks to position Güímar as a benchmark in adapted transport services. The decision was made during a meeting at the union's headquarters, where current deficiencies in public transport accessibility for this group were addressed.
The new stops will be located at strategic points in the municipality. One will be in the urban center, specifically in the Plaza de Las Flores, facilitating access to services and administrations. Another will be near the Puertito de Güímar, an important tourist spot, and the third next to the CAMP Reina Sofía, a place frequented by wheelchair users.

"We do not promote these improvements and the incorporation of PMR stops only as a union, but as residents of the municipality, having observed significant shortcomings for such an important group as people with reduced mobility."

Additionally, improvements are planned for the Montaña de El Socorro stop, which currently has lighting deficiencies on both the outbound and return journeys. These measures are expected to be implemented in the short term, according to the commitment made by municipal representatives.
