A man was seriously injured this Wednesday after a fire broke out in a cafeteria located on Avenida Santa Cruz in Güímar, Tenerife.

The fire originated around 3:40 PM, according to the alert received by the Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2. The flames primarily affected the establishment's kitchen.
Firefighters acted quickly to extinguish the blaze and proceeded to ventilate the building. Medical personnel from the Canary Emergency Medical Service (SUC) attended to the affected individual at the scene, who presented with severe burns.
Due to the severity of his injuries, the man was transported by a SUC medicalized ambulance to the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria, where he was admitted in serious condition.
The Local Police and the Guardia Civil were dispatched to the scene to secure the area and collaborate with the emergency teams during the operation.
