A total of 25 proposals were submitted to the competition organized by the Youth Department of the La Orotava City Council. The jury, comprising Mario Afonso Fariña, Gema Peraza, and Héctor Díaz Delgado, awarded the first prize of 200 euros to the work by Ana Pi. García Rodríguez for capturing the essence of the event.
The winning composition depicts young people engaged in various artistic disciplines, emphasizing creativity and the participatory nature of the event. An honorable mention was also awarded to Pablo Montelongo García for the quality of his proposal.
Mayor Francisco Linares praised the high quality and variety of the submitted works, noting the jury's difficult decision. He congratulated all participants, especially the winner, and highlighted that the chosen poster accurately represents the spirit of 'Arte Joven en la Calle'.
This initiative, which transforms the historic center of La Orotava into a stage for youth creation, has become a significant event in Tenerife and the Canary Islands. Its open and participatory character, maintained for nearly three decades, attracts audiences of all ages and revitalizes the area.
The Councilor for Youth, Darío Afonso, detailed that the fair will bring together over five hundred young artists showcasing their talent in disciplines such as painting, dance, theater, music, photography, graffiti, storytelling, robotics, puppetry, and mime, among others.
Since its inception in 2000, 'Arte Joven en la Calle' has been a pioneer and benchmark for youth creation, turning the streets of the historic center into spaces for exhibition and encounter.
