The closing of Sansofé, the cultural summer of the South, took place this past weekend, drawing a large audience. The performance on Saturday, August 29th, by Los Sabandeños marked the final act of this initiative, which over two months presented an extensive program of activities for all ages.
The program, which began on July 5th, aimed to complement the leisure and cultural offerings during the summer season, not only within the municipality but also across the entire region. The Councilor for Culture, Carlos Abismael Díaz Barreto, highlighted "the great reception of the different activities and that this initiative once again becomes the main meeting point of the summer in our municipality, combining all kinds of proposals for all ages and tastes."
Music was one of the main pillars of Sansofé, featuring performances by artists and groups such as Olga Cerpa y Mestisay, alongside the Sociedad Cultural José Reyes Martín; the group Tinglao; La Parranda Chasnera; singer-songwriter Beatriz Martín; Goyo Tavío, accompanied by the Mariachi San Miguel; Marwán, and Los Sabandeños. This musical offering was complemented by the Festival de Nuevos Talentos and the XXXI Muestra Folclórica de los Pueblos.
The program also included sports activities and initiatives promoting culture and traditions, such as the 13th Monográfico del Presa Canario and the Ichasagua Festival, which featured exhibitions of traditional sports, the performance of Chácaras y Tambores Garajonay, and various musical acts. Gastronomy also had its space with events like Sensaciones Sabores de Verano and the Beer Festival in Los Abrigos, alongside family-oriented activities such as summer cinema, exhibitions, puppet shows, and children's entertainment.
Thus, Sansofé reaffirms its position as one of the leading cultural and leisure proposals of the summer, offering a diverse program for all ages and contributing to the revitalization of the municipality's various districts and the region as a whole.
