The capital of Gran Canaria celebrates one of its most deeply rooted traditions this afternoon. Starting at 7:00 PM, the Cathedral of the Canary Islands will host the Solemn Eucharist, followed by a traditional procession through the historic streets, which have been meticulously decorated by residents, religious groups, and municipal staff from the Parks and Gardens department.

Throughout the day, Plaza de Santa Ana has been the center of activity. Dozens of volunteers have worked on creating an ephemeral mosaic using natural materials such as grass, sand, and flower bouquets, forming a display of great artistic and devotional value.

Among the designs on display, a 600-square-meter carpet prepared by the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria stands out, alongside contributions from the Cabildo de Gran Canaria. The designs include thematic messages that invite reflection and community gathering in this historic setting.
