The shock following the murder of a well-known merchant in the Schamann neighborhood, which occurred almost two months ago, remains palpable in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Through a signature collection campaign, citizens have gathered over 6,000 endorsements to demand not only the resolution of the crime but also an increase in security in one of the city's historic areas.
The initiative, spearheaded by the victim's family and close associates, has toured various locations in the Gran Canarian capital, such as Avenida Felo Monzón in Siete Palmas and the Barrio Atlántico. The mobilization aims to raise awareness among institutions about the growing concern regarding violence and insecurity in the city.

The campaign's organizers have held meetings with municipal representatives, including the Security Councilor of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council, to request a greater police presence and the installation of surveillance cameras. The campaign will continue its journey through the city, with planned stops in busy areas such as the entrance to El Corte Inglés in Siete Palmas and the Las Torres neighborhood, aiming to gather more support and keep the demand for justice and security alive.
