Two of the adult individuals arrested for their alleged involvement in the assault on a jewelry store at the Cita Shopping Center, located in Playa del Inglés (San Bartolomé de Tirajana), have been sent to provisional prison. The measure also affects a 17-year-old minor, who has been interned in the La Montañeta juvenile center for a period of six months. The investigated events occurred last Saturday, June 13.
The National Police continue the search for a fourth individual, who has already been identified and for whom an arrest warrant is in effect. The three detainees are being investigated for alleged crimes of robbery with violence and intimidation, vehicle theft or robbery, damage, document forgery, offenses against road safety, and belonging to a criminal group.
According to security forces, four hooded individuals stormed the Gold Kraemer jewelry store, stealing numerous pieces after breaking several display cases. The assailants allegedly used hammers and a large sharp object to access the jewelry. An employee who tried to prevent their escape was threatened with a hammer, and a customer who came to her aid was also allegedly intimidated.
After the robbery, the alleged perpetrators initially fled in a red Honda FR-V, which was later abandoned in Playa del Inglés. They continued their escape in a black Audi Q2, a vehicle that, according to the investigation, had been rented days earlier and was circulating with false license plates.
The escape culminated in a police chase along the GC-1 northbound, where the vehicle reached speeds close to 190 km/h, performing dangerous maneuvers. The pursuit ended in the Telde neighborhood of Las Huesas when the Audi crashed into a house after losing control. Three of the occupants were arrested nearby, one of them while trying to hide near an educational center.
Inside the crashed car, investigators found jewelry, glass fragments from the broken display cases, and clothing allegedly used in the robbery. The investigation remains open to locate the fourth suspect, identified as the alleged driver of the vehicle used in the escape.
