The event was attended by a delegation from the Canarias 50 Light Infantry Regiment. This military unit, which maintains a historical link to the 1599 conflict against the Dutch fleet, includes the nickname 'El del Batán' on its coat of arms in recognition of the victory achieved in that episode.
The ceremony brought together institutional and civil representatives, including members of the Santa Brígida municipal government, officials from the Government of the Canary Islands' Department of Culture and Cultural Heritage, and representatives of the island's official chronicle.
The event highlighted the defensive strategy used in the highlands, where knowledge of the rugged terrain allowed local forces to resist one of the most powerful European armadas of the time.
Following the protocol, the day concluded with a gathering open to the public at Parque de La Fuente, as part of the commemorative activities organized by the municipality.
