The Telde City Council is awaiting a definitive judicial ruling to conclude the selection process for the incorporation of 33 Local Police officers, after a court decision mandated a review of part of one of the tests.

The judicial decision does not annul the entire opposition process but partially upholds an appeal filed by an applicant. The court found that a legal criterion was incorrectly applied in the correction of a practical case, affecting the score awarded.
The court ordered the partial annulment of that specific evaluation and the retroaction of the procedure, which implies a review and new scoring of the affected exercise for all applicants. The objective is to ensure the principles of equality, merit, and capacity in the selection process.
Following the ruling, the Human Resources department forwarded the resolution to the examining board, which proceeded with the review and re-evaluation of the exercise. Subsequently, the file was sent back to the court for supervision, so that the judicial authority can determine if the execution of the sentence has been carried out correctly.

"This procedure is crucial, as until there is a judicial pronouncement validating the correct execution of the sentence, it is not possible to move forward with the definitive proposal for the appointment of the 33 trainee officers as career civil servants."

The council has informed the interested officers and union representatives about the situation, emphasizing that the delay is due to the need to guarantee the legal certainty of the procedure and strict compliance with judicial resolutions. The local government remains committed to finalizing the process once the definitive judicial ruling is available, in order to strengthen the police force and ensure citizen security services in the municipality.
Meanwhile, Nueva Canarias in Telde has expressed its support for the 33 officers, criticizing the current governing group's management for the delay in their full incorporation as civil servants. The political party stresses that these positions are the result of intense work from the previous mandate and laments the lack of political direction in the Human Resources Department, which, in their view, is causing an unjustifiable blockage.
