The life of a Canarian priest, born in Telde in 1904, is remembered for his exceptional intelligence, profound musical sensitivity, and dedication to religious service, leaving an indelible mark on the island's culture.

From an early age, the priest showed remarkable academic aptitude, entering the Diocesan Seminary of La Inmaculada Concepción in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria before the age of twelve. His career as a seminarian was so outstanding that, at just 26 years old and with a papal dispensation, he was ordained a priest, solidifying a reputation as an intellectual.
Throughout his 58 years of life, the priest amassed an impressive personal library, with texts in Greek, Latin, French, and Spanish. After his death in 1964, part of this collection was donated to the León y Castillo House-Museum Library, while another section, focused on theological topics, was given to the Library of the Seminary of the Diocese of Canarias, where it remains available for researchers.
His musical talent was widely recognized, especially his organ performances at the Holy Cathedral Basilica of Canarias (Santa Ana). A bishop of the Diocese, Monsignor Antonio Pildáin Zapiáin, publicly praised his mastery, urging parishioners to appreciate the music emanating from his hands.

"I wish my poor body to await the resurrection of the flesh among my own, in the Catholic cemetery of San Juan Bautista de Telde."

The priest maintained a strong bond with his hometown, Telde, actively participating in its most important religious festivities. Even in his later years, affected by a severe liver disease, he continued his pastoral and musical work. His final wish was to be buried in the Catholic cemetery of San Juan Bautista de Telde, alongside his loved ones, a wish that was respected.
