The municipal initiative aims to remove economic barriers and facilitate access to the job market or emancipation for young people. Direct aid can reach up to 500 euros per person, covering costs for enrollment, study materials, theoretical and practical classes, as well as exam fees.
The Federation of Driving Schools of the Canary Islands (FEACA) supports the measure, highlighting its contribution to the economic relief of households and road safety on the island.
To apply for this aid, interested individuals must be between 18 and 30 years old, registered in La Laguna for at least six months, and enrolled in a driving school within the municipality. Expenses incurred from January 1, 2026, until the official deadline of the call will be subsidized.
Subsidies will be awarded through a competitive bidding system, prioritizing applicants with greater vulnerability or insertion needs, such as job seekers registered with the National Youth Guarantee System, individuals with disabilities, members of large or single-parent families, and economically independent young people.
The application period will be 20 calendar days from the publication in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP). Registration and document submission will be available through the electronic headquarters of the council and the information channels of the Department of Education and Youth.
