Young Woman Injured by Scaffolding Collapse in Santa Cruz de Tenerife

A 26-year-old woman has been taken to the hospital with moderate injuries after part of a structure fell on her in the public street.

A 26-year-old woman was injured this Wednesday in Santa Cruz de Tenerife when scaffolding detached and fell on her on Fernández Navarro street, sustaining moderate trauma.

The incident occurred around 3:18 PM, when the Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 112 received the alert. The report indicated that a section of scaffolding had fallen on a pedestrian.
Following the notification, 112 dispatched emergency services, including the Canary Emergency Service (SUC), the National Police, and the Local Police. An SUC health coordinator activated a basic life support ambulance.
Healthcare personnel attended to the affected woman at the scene, initially diagnosing her with moderate trauma. She was subsequently transported by ambulance to the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital for further medical attention.
Officers from the National and Local Police secured the affected area and managed traffic to facilitate emergency operations and ensure public safety. They also initiated the necessary proceedings to determine the causes of the structural detachment.
