The San Bartolomé Town Hall has once again put out to tender the project to transform Arrecife Street and the surroundings of the Casa Ajei, with an investment of €855,832.44 and an execution period of eight months.

The project's main objective is the comprehensive renovation of the urban space to improve universal accessibility, pedestrian mobility, and road safety, as well as enhance the image of one of the main access points to the municipality's historic center.
The action also includes the modernization of underground infrastructures, allowing for a joint intervention on the surface and existing basic services. Once the work is awarded, the planned execution will be eight months.
This initiative is part of the municipal strategy for urban regeneration and improvement of public spaces, aiming to adapt the municipality to current needs without neglecting the conservation of its historical and architectural heritage.
Arrecife Street is a strategic thoroughfare connecting to the surroundings of the Casa Ajei, a representative building of San Bartolomé's cultural heritage. The project seeks to improve accessibility, facilitate walking, increase traffic safety, and renew the pavement, reorganizing urban elements for a more functional environment.
Mayor Isidro Pérez highlighted that the renovation will offer a more accessible, safe, and modern entrance to the historic center, in line with the heritage value of the Casa Ajei, improving citizens' quality of life and the municipality's image. Urban Planning Councilor Marlene Romero emphasized the project's global design, acting on both the visible space and existing infrastructures to create a functional urban environment and preserve historical value.
Urban regeneration policies aim to promote safe and sustainable travel, reduce architectural barriers, and reclaim spaces for coexistence. The renovation of paving and street furniture seeks a more homogeneous and orderly image for this heritage area.
The Casa Ajei, one of the most emblematic historical buildings, is a cultural and social landmark in San Bartolomé. Improving its urban surroundings aims to reinforce the integration of historical heritage into the municipality's development and facilitate access for both residents and visitors.
