The competition in Fuerteventura will award a total of seven world titles. In the Windsurfing discipline, the women's Freestyle championships and the Slalom X titles for both men and women will be decided. Added to these are four Wingfoil crowns: FreeFly-Slalom (men's and women's) and Surf-Freestyle (men's and women's), following the cancellation of a previous calendar event.
The action on Sunday, July 19th, focused on Windsurf Freestyle. Dutch rider Maaike Huvermann holds the provisional lead after winning Saturday's single elimination, narrowly beating Sarah-Quita Offringa from Aruba. The title race intensifies, as Offringa must win twice in the double elimination against Huvermann to claim the championship.
The men's double elimination competition will continue in the afternoon with competitors such as Bodhi Kempen (NED), Steven Van Broeckhoven (BEL), Jacopo Testa (ITA), and Dieter Van der Eyken (BEL). The men's champion will not be decided until Monday.
In the men's category, Greek rider Lennart Neubauer, winner of the single elimination, provisionally holds first place, followed by Belgian Yentel Caers, Swiss Balz Müller, and Japanese Takumi Moriya.
