An extensive emergency operation has been launched off the coast of San Sebastián de La Gomera to locate a diver missing since Friday afternoon, involving air, sea, and land teams.

The operation is focused on the vicinity of Playa de la Cueva and has resumed with the incorporation of specialized resources. The alert was activated on Friday after the diver's disappearance was reported in the capital of La Gomera, as confirmed by sources from the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 112 Canarias.
Since the notification, an action protocol has been established involving various security and rescue agencies, coordinated by the Guardia Civil.
Two helicopters are actively participating in the search efforts: a unit from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) of the Government of the Canary Islands, which intervened at the express request of the Guardia Civil, and the Helimer helicopter from Maritime Rescue. Both aircraft conduct aerial sweeps over the coastline and hard-to-reach areas from the air, attempting to spot any signs on the water's surface.
By sea, the operation includes the intervention of the Specialist Group in Underwater Activities (GEAS) of the Guardia Civil. These elite divers are responsible for conducting search dives in the area where the missing person was last seen, analyzing currents and seabed near Playa de la Cueva.
In parallel with the maritime intervention, the operation is complemented on land by police officers, who carry out surveillance along the coast and coordinate information from command posts. Playa de la Cueva, located in the municipality of San Sebastián, is the nerve center of the operations, where all available technical potential has been deployed. For now, search efforts continue without positive news regarding the diver's whereabouts.
Authorities are keeping the operation active, and it is expected that weather conditions will allow the helicopters and underwater teams to continue their work in the coming hours.
