The initiative, supported by a budget of 350,000 euros for 2026, aims to remove architectural barriers in 30 homes. These efforts build upon the 22 interventions completed in the previous year, bringing the total number of assisted households to 52 since the program's inception.
Renovations include replacing bathtubs with walk-in showers, installing handrails, building access ramps, and widening doorways to accommodate wheelchairs. These measures are intended to promote resident autonomy and prevent dependency.
Participation is coordinated through municipal social services and social organizations. Applicants must meet financial criteria and own the property, which must serve as their primary residence. This year, the program has expanded its scope to include individuals with functional diversity of any age, in addition to those over 64.
