Lanzarote airport, with over 3.6 million passengers between January and May, holds the tenth national position, despite a slight drop in spring activity.

Between January and May 2026, César Manrique Airport in Lanzarote has recorded just over 3.6 million passengers, allowing it to retain its tenth place in the national ranking of airports by number of users. This figure represents a slight decrease compared to the same period last year, attributed to lower activity during the spring.
Forecasts suggest that the Lanzarote facility might fall out of the top ten airports for passenger movement during the summer months. Competition from airports such as Ibiza, and the performance of Seville and Bilbao airports, are key factors in this potential reshuffling of the rankings.
In terms of aircraft operations, Lanzarote has already dropped out of the top ten. Between January and May, 29,682 aircraft movements were recorded, placing Guacimeta Airport in eleventh position nationally. To surpass the record of 72,949 operations set at the end of 2025, a significant increase in activity would be needed.
Regarding cargo traffic, the first five months of the year saw 188,916 tons moved, representing a notable decrease compared to the previous year. In this category, Lanzarote ranks eighteenth nationally, according to estimates released by the managing body.
