“"Our commitment is not only to expand the workforce, which we will do soon with the incorporation of more than twenty firefighters, but also to do so with material resources. These new two vehicles and the inflatable boat significantly increase the safety of the citizens of Lanzarote and La Graciosa."

Emergency vehicles, including an inflatable boat and two pick-up trucks, in a volcanic Canary Islands setting.
The Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote and La Graciosa has expanded its operational capabilities with the addition of two pick-up vehicles and an inflatable boat, aimed at enhancing firefighter interventions in both terrestrial and maritime environments.
This acquisition, supported by the Cabildo, seeks to optimize emergency response on both islands. The measure is part of a strategic plan that includes fleet expansion and the recruitment of new personnel.
The arrival of these units complements other recent equipment improvements, such as the incorporation of a 32-meter aerial ladder vehicle and the continuous reinforcement of resources on La Graciosa, consolidating an increasingly robust and modern emergency infrastructure.
During the presentation, the president of the Security and Emergency Consortium highlighted that these purchases are part of the technical modernization plan initiated by the entity to ensure maximum effectiveness in every service. The pick-up vehicles will allow for greater agility in rapid displacements and essential versatility for accessing areas with difficult terrain where large tonnage trucks have limitations. The new boat, for its part, significantly strengthens the aquatic rescue area, a vital competence for the Consortium that has already managed numerous services along the coast this year, including rescues and technical assistance at sea.
