The Yaiza City Council has ordered the temporary closure of a beach in Playa Blanca following the detection of a wastewater discharge caused by a blockage in the sanitation network.

The incident, located near Parque Mediterráneo, has led to restricted access and swimming in the area as a precautionary measure to ensure public safety.
The measure will remain in place following guidelines from the Health Inspection of the Canary Islands Health Service. The protocol requires the installation of warning signs and a ban on use until tests confirm the water is safe.
Water samples are scheduled to be collected this Sunday. Analytical results will be available on Monday, at which point the reopening of the area will be considered if microbiological parameters are favorable.
