The Santiago feast in Gáldar culminated with the traditional Battle of Flowers, an event that brought together hundreds of people in the vicinity of Santiago Square. Young and old enjoyed the joy and tradition by throwing confetti balls.
The floats that paraded in the Grand Cavalcade of the festivities were once again exhibited, parading down Capitán Quesada Street and completing a lap around Santiago Square. Once finished, the city's mayor, Teodoro Sosa, officially started the confetti battle with the first throw.
Participants, armed with confetti, competed in a full-scale war. The most coveted targets were the floats themselves, which this year featured fantasy themes such as "Charlot", "Alice in Wonderland", "The Mermaid", "Easter Eggs", "Under the Sea", "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse", and "The Last Emperor". Masterful throws also came from the floats, dyeing the square and its surroundings white.
The day concluded with a concert by singer Merche at the La Quinta Cultural Venue, where she performed hits like "Abre tu mente", "Eras tú", and "No me pidas más amor". Afterwards, the party moved back to Santiago Square for orchestras Panamaribe and Star Music.
