Gáldar chooses its Guayarmina and Bentejuí 2026 in a gala with musical performances

Seven young women aspire to the title of Guayarmina and two to Bentejuí in the traditional gala of the Fiestas Mayores de Santiago.

The Plaza de Santiago in Gáldar will host this Saturday, July 11, the Gala for the Election of the Guayarmina, Bentejuí, and their Court of Tenesoyas 2026, starting at 8:30 PM.

Seven young women will compete for the title of Guayarmina and two aspirants will vie for Bentejuí, representing various neighborhood associations, collectives, and entities of the municipality. The final result will be determined by a weighted sum of votes cast via the Gáldar City Council's mobile application and those awarded by two juries, one of specialists and another from the media.
The gala will feature performances by Martta Sanz and the duo Adexe y Nau, providing the musical entertainment. The event will be hosted by Rubén Castellano and Cathaysa González.
The Gala for the Election of the Guayarmina, Bentejuí, and their Court of Tenesoyas is organized by the Department of Culture and Festivals of the Gáldar City Council, led by the first deputy mayor, Julio Mateo Castillo, as part of the program for the 544th Fiestas Mayores de Santiago.
The candidates for Guayarmina are: Iraya García Medina (Neighborhood Association El Labrador de San Isidro), Daniela Alejandra Rivero Mendoza (Neighborhood Association San Pedro González Telmo de Sardina), Naira Rodríguez Padrón (Neighborhood Association Amagro de Barrial), Natalia Ruíz Mendoza (Pessada Producciones), Kimberly García Ruíz (Fomento de Gáldar), Yaneisy Castellano Medina (Neighborhood Association El Bermejal de Marmolejos), and Aitana Rodríguez Cabrera (Neighborhood Association Nuestra Señora de Fátima de La Montaña).
The candidates for Bentejuí are: Edgar Daniel Bolaños Cerpa (Neighborhood Association Puerto Cabello de Nido Cuervo) and Alberto Torres Martín (Neighborhood Association El Labrador de San Isidro).
