The Vallehermoso City Council has completed the hiring of 37 unemployed individuals through the 2025-2026 Social Employment Program, aiming to strengthen municipal services and create job opportunities.
The council has finalized the incorporation of 37 local unemployed residents to enhance key areas such as social services, home care, geriatrics, and public space maintenance. This initiative, with an approximate investment of 700,000 euros, is co-financed with the Government of the Canary Islands.
The hires include positions for cooks, home care workers, geriatric assistants, drivers, cleaning and waste collection laborers, electricians, plumbers, builders, and administrative assistants, all coordinated with municipal departments to meet the basic needs of the population.
Through an agreement with the Cabildo Insular de La Gomera, the hiring of 29 unemployed individuals over 60 years old was managed. These individuals will provide services within the municipality under municipal coordination, thereby reinforcing various areas and contributing to public service.
