Hiker Rescued in Tejeda After Fall in Gran Canaria

A 59-year-old woman sustained moderate injuries this Sunday after falling while hiking in the El Chorrillo area, within the municipality of Tejeda, Gran Canaria.

The incident occurred at 1:14 PM, prompting the activation of emergency services. The Canary Islands 112 Emergency and Security Coordinating Center reported the event.
Personnel from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) arrived at the scene and, after assessing the individual, confirmed she had various moderate injuries. Due to the challenging terrain, an aerial rescue was deemed necessary.
The Emergency and Rescue Group's helicopter carried out the evacuation. Subsequently, the woman was transported from the helipad of the Hospital Universitario de Gran Canaria Doctor Negrín to the hospital's emergency department for medical attention.
