The Civil Guard has arrested two individuals in Morro Jable, Fuerteventura, accused of committing seven aggravated robberies and one theft in hotels within the municipality of Pájara.

The arrests followed an investigation launched in early January, prompted by an increase in robbery reports in the area. The perpetrators operated at night, gaining access to guests' rooms while they slept, using the 'escalo' (climbing) technique.
One particular robbery caused significant alarm due to the theft of sensitive computer equipment belonging to the Bank of Spain. This discovery elevated the priority of the inquiries conducted by the Morro Jable Investigation Area.
The suspects were identified through an exhaustive analysis of security camera footage, which helped locate the vehicle used in the crimes. Furthermore, the geolocation of a stolen electronic device proved crucial, leading agents directly to a residential area in Morro Jable, matching one of the suspect's addresses.
During a surveillance operation, the Civil Guard observed a woman, romantically linked to the main suspect, carrying a backpack. After a discreet pursuit coordinated with the victim, who confirmed the device's GPS movement, the woman was intercepted and voluntarily surrendered the device. Subsequently, the backpack containing the rest of the stolen computer equipment, including the Bank of Spain items, was found nearby.
The two detainees have been handed over to the Duty Court of First Instance and Instruction in Puerto del Rosario. The Civil Guard continues efforts to recover other stolen items and does not rule out further arrests in the coming days related to this criminal network in Fuerteventura.
