The Alajeró City Council has approved the definitive resolution for the 2024 call for subsidies aimed at the rehabilitation of privately owned homes, within the framework of the Canary Islands Housing Plan 2020-2025, to combat rural depopulation.

These grants, funded by the Canary Islands Housing Institute, aim to improve the living conditions of homes and enable families to remain in their usual environment, thus helping to mitigate depopulation in rural areas.
The resolution from the Mayor's Office of Alajeró concludes the process initiated by interested parties, detailing for each file the subsidized rehabilitation work, the accepted investment, the amount of the aid granted, and the percentage of the subsidy applied to each beneficiary.
The maximum period for the execution of the works extends until March 12, 2027. Once the works are completed, the City Council must be notified for the corresponding technical inspection. The justification of the subsidy must be submitted before March 30, 2027, in accordance with the established regulatory bases.
The complete list of beneficiaries is available for consultation on the notice board of the Alajeró City Council's electronic headquarters and on the municipal board.

"A new call for housing rehabilitation aid is expected to be approved shortly within the framework of the Canary Islands Housing Plan 2020 – 2025, in order to give continuity to this line of support and allow more families in the municipality to benefit from these subsidies."
