Agüimes and San Mateo Host La Titánica Challenge with 171 Cyclists per Day

The 21st edition of this demanding cycling event, endorsed by the UCI, takes place over two days with highly challenging routes.

The municipalities of Agüimes and San Mateo, in Gran Canaria, become the epicenter this weekend for the La Titánica Challenge, a cycling competition celebrating its 21st edition and bringing together 171 cyclists on each of its two days.

The event, endorsed by the International Cycling Union (UCI), has established itself as one of the most prominent dates on the regional calendar. Saturday's stage starts and finishes at the Agüimes Auditorium, covering a route of 18.3 kilometers with a positive elevation gain of 700 meters.
On Sunday, the challenge intensifies with a route connecting Agüimes with San Mateo, spanning 78 kilometers and an impressive positive elevation gain of 2,300 meters. This Sunday stage is structured into three timed sections, offering participants the option to choose between a long or a shorter distance.

The official presentation of the event was attended by various authorities and representatives of sponsoring entities. Michael Lund, CEO of Servatur, highlighted his company's honor in participating as a sponsor and the opportunity to showcase the new concept of Monte Feliz-Powered by Playitas, the first sports hotel on the island of Gran Canaria.
