The center of Playa Blanca, in the municipality of Yaiza, has incorporated 100 new parking spaces following the completion of the first phase of improvement works on Papagayo Avenue, with a second stage set to add 300 more parking spots.

The initial phase of the project on Papagayo Avenue has created 35 parking spaces behind the local church and an additional 65 parallel parking spaces along the avenue itself. This section of the road will now operate as a one-way street, specifically towards Las Coloradas, in the stretch between the church and Maciot Street.
According to a municipal spokesperson during a visit to the ongoing works, a second phase is planned to create another 300 free-to-use parking spaces. These new spots will be located in the esplanade in front of the Princesa Yaiza hotel.

"The total urban rehabilitation project extends along Papagayo Avenue to the Ciudad Jardín roundabout, with a global investment of 2.6 million euros, fully assumed by the City Council with municipal funds."

The total investment for the urban rehabilitation of Papagayo Avenue amounts to 2.6 million euros, entirely funded by municipal resources. This project aims not only to improve the road surface, asphalt, and signage but also to construct sidewalks, eliminate architectural barriers, ensure accessibility, and install new lighting, all with the goal of enhancing safety for drivers and pedestrians on this main thoroughfare of Playa Blanca.
Concurrently, a section of these works will overlap with the comprehensive refurbishment of the entrance to Playa Blanca from Femés, specifically the segment between the Plabacón roundabouts and the Marcastell urbanization. This second intervention, with a budget of 1.3 million euros also from municipal funds, is expected to commence in the coming weeks.
