Calle Limones in Playa Blanca has begun the replacement of its old streetlights with 45 new LED luminaires, an initiative aimed at improving lighting and energy efficiency.

Work has commenced on replacing the deteriorated streetlights on the central Calle Limones in Playa Blanca. A total of 45 new units featuring LED technology will be installed, an initiative backed by an investment of approximately 27,000 euros from the Yaiza City Council.
The renovation is expected to be completed before the end of the current month. This project addresses requests made by local businesses, who had highlighted the need for improved lighting.
This effort complements recent upgrades in partial plans and the comprehensive rehabilitation of the Avenida de Papagayo. The council's objective is to advance its public lighting network improvement program, promoting energy savings and enhancing illumination quality in areas frequented by residents and tourists.

"In addition to modernizing municipal infrastructure and improving energy efficiency, this intervention helps reinforce public safety by providing greater visibility for both users and establishments, and presents a better image of our main tourist hub."

The Councilor for Public Works, Ángel Lago, has apologized for any inconvenience the work may cause and has requested the cooperation of the business sector. Businesses are urged to exercise extreme caution with mobile displays placed near their premises in the coming days and to ensure sufficient space for workers to access work sites comfortably, which will allow for faster and more efficient project execution.
