The pier in Playa Blanca, Yaiza, will debut new furniture and an access control system in 2027, along with improved signage, after an investment of over 471,700 euros.

Canary Islands Ports, an entity dependent on the Government of the Canary Islands, has finalized the agreement for these enhancements, aimed at bolstering security and optimizing the daily operations of the port infrastructure. The contract, awarded in late May to the Galician company Citanias Obras y Servicios, concludes a process that had been delayed since late 2024.
Once the final contract is signed, a six-month period will commence for the orderly installation of all planned new infrastructure. This project follows the pier's expansion work, the main phase of which was completed in 2022.

"With this action, we are advancing in the continuous improvement of our port infrastructures, offering more modern and secure facilities, and responding to the real needs of the users of the Playa Blanca port, especially in a strategic enclave with high demand for moorings."
