This Monday, Calvario Park was inaugurated, and its entrance now features the 'community rosette', an initiative led by the Department of Culture, headed by Yurena Cubas, and the Department of the Elderly, directed by Macarena Olivero. Alongside them, council member Luis Miguel Pérez Berriel, and Estefanía González, head of Experimenta Lanzarote, proceeded to place a plaque with a QR code.
This QR code directly links to the video documenting the creation of the rosette on the Ayuntamiento de Tinajo's Youtube profile, explaining the elaboration process and community participation to residents and visitors.
The 'community rosette' is a collective artwork designed to represent the town and strengthen the sense of belonging. It was conceived to imbue Tinajo's public spaces with identity through a creation embodying 'the soul of many people'.
The piece revives structures crafted years ago by artisans, which had never been exhibited before, and now incorporates the participation of different generations: students aged between 70 and 90, high school youths, and residents who collaborated during the Canary Islands Day in Mancha Blanca. All contributed their work and knowledge of a traditional technique linked to the rosette and 'cojinchi'.
