The coach has become the only one in the history of CD Tenerife to achieve two promotions to the Second Division, surpassing the record for most matches managed with the club. This achievement is shared with his assistant, a professional with deep roots on the island.

After exceeding the 160-match mark at the helm of the team, the coach acknowledged the importance of other historical figures of the club. However, his ability to return the team to professional football on two occasions, in 2013 and again in 2026, distinguishes him as a benchmark in the entity.

The coach's career began with a close relationship with the island, where he resided since childhood. After a playing career and a stint with various Segunda B teams, he was entrusted with the mission of leading CD Tenerife out of the third tier. He successfully achieved the goal, securing promotion after defeating Hospitalet in the leaders' final.

The collaboration with his assistant, a local coach, extended to other clubs such as Cádiz and Oviedo. His return to CD Tenerife at a critical moment, after relegation to Primera RFEF, was driven by mutual trust. Although the initial phase of this second spell did not yield the expected success, their expert insight was crucial for the promotion that ensured their stay in the Second Division.
