The teacher examination day in the Canary Islands unfolded with high tension and hope, gathering 8,235 candidates in 25 educational centers for 955 available positions.

The pursuit of a permanent teaching position mobilized thousands of candidates across the Canary Islands this Saturday. A total of 8,235 individuals were summoned to 25 educational centers spread across Tenerife, La Palma, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura, competing for one of the 955 available positions. The day, described as "D-day" after months of preparation, combined intensive study with daily work for many candidates from various educational bodies.
At the IES Tomás de Iriarte, located in the Santa Cruz neighborhood of Las Delicias, an atmosphere of expectation prevailed. Diego de Almagro street saw a notable influx of people and double-parked cars from early morning, an unmistakable sign of the day's importance. Some candidates chose to intensively review topics, while others expressed the difficulty of memorizing the entire syllabus and the influence of luck.
The specialties of Physical Education, English, and Music took place at this institute in the Tinerfeño capital. The process, which included calling by surnames, drawing of topics, and the start of the exam at 10:00 AM, proceeded as planned and without significant incidents. The Physical Education coordinator, Tanausú Cabrera, highlighted the smooth running of the process and the high attendance of those summoned.

"I'm a little nervous, but we're going to give it a try."

Nerves were a constant among the majority of participants. "I come with a lot of enthusiasm, I have dedicated a lot of effort, and I really want to get the coveted position," shared Miguel Ángel González, another candidate. The hope that luck would accompany the effort made during preparation was palpable.
