The Candelaria City Council has announced the return of the Atlético Floral Offering to the Virgen de Candelaria on August 15. This 35th edition consolidates an event that merges sport, tradition, and solidarity around the General Patroness of the Archipelago. The race, awarded the «Tourism Merit» Prize by CIT Candelaria-Caletillas, is non-profit, solidarity-based, and non-competitive, with a pace of 7 minutes per kilometer.
The start is scheduled for 7:00 AM from Parque de La Granja, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with a pre-event gathering from 06:00 AM. The route will follow the Carretera General del Sur, passing through locations such as Tío Pino, Las Delicias-Ofra, Taco, Barranco Grande, Radazul, Tabaiba, and Barranco Hondo, before descending through Las Caletillas to the plaza of the Basilica of Candelaria. Arrival is expected around 10:00 AM, at which point participants will complete a lap of the plaza and make the floral offering.
Following the athletic effort, the Candelaria City Council and Deportes Salud will offer a restorative breakfast to all participants.
True to its spirit of solidarity under the motto «Help those most in need», the organization requires the donation of personal hygiene products and/or non-perishable food items as a mandatory condition. This donation must be handed over on the day of T-shirt collection.
Registration, which is mandatory and costs 15 euros, can be completed via the website medsaludsport.es and will remain open until Thursday, August 13, with a maximum of 700 runners. The event's T-shirt, a full-color print model featuring an image of the Virgen, sleeveless, and available in men's and women's versions, must be worn on the day of the race. Collection will begin on Tuesday, August 11, at MED Salud Sport (calle Panamá nº 11, Barrio Buenos Aires), from 09:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 19:00 hours.
The event is insured for all registered participants listed in the organization's documentation. Each runner is responsible for their actions and must at all times follow the instructions of the organization's staff. The event will be supported by police units from the municipalities of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, El Rosario, and Candelaria, as well as the Guardia Civil, Cruz Roja, Protección Civil, and AEA. A sweep van will be available to address any eventualities and transport runners to Candelaria.
Six water supply points will be set up at Las Delicias, Barranco Grande, Cruce del Rosario, Radazul, Barranco Hondo, and Caletillas. Participants are advised to bring their own hydration. The delivery of flower bouquets will take place at the Bar Agrícola, located above the Puente de Las Caletillas.
For the return journey, the organization will provide a service of three buses departing from the bus terminal on Rambla de los Menceyes at 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM, and 2:00 PM, heading to Parque de La Granja, in Santa Cruz.
