The municipality of Candelaria has accompanied its sister municipality, Teror, in the celebration of the Fiestas del Pino 2026, one of the most important events on Gran Canaria's festive calendar. The main day of this festival is dedicated to its patron saint, the Virgen del Pino.
The Mayor of Candelaria, Mari Brito, was present at the events held in the Villa Mariana. Among them, she participated in the traditional military parade, the procession, and the Eucharist in honor of the Virgen del Pino. She was accompanied by council members Francisco Pinto, Reinaldo Triviño, and Mónica Yanes, as well as the Prior of the Dominican Fathers, Fray Dailos José Melo González.
During her visit, Mayor Brito highlighted the strong ties that unite both municipalities. She expressed her gratitude to the Mayor of Teror, José Agustín Arencibia García, as well as to the entire municipal corporation and the people of Teror, for the warm welcome and affection received.

Today we come to return the visit that Mayor José Agustín Arencibia and his team made last August to Candelaria for our festivities in honor of the Virgen de Candelaria, Patron Saint of the Canary Islands."
Mari Brito extended her congratulations to all the citizens of Teror and Gran Canaria, wishing that the festivities unfold in an atmosphere of joy and with broad participation.
