Club Natación Las Palmas Recognized for National Adapted Swimming Title

The Government of Canarias, through its Minister of Physical Activity and Sports, has honored Club Natación Las Palmas for its outstanding trajectory and the retention of the national adapted swimming championship in the combined category.
Representatives from Club Natación Las Palmas were received this Tuesday at the headquarters of the Vice-Ministry of Sports in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The meeting took place after the club was proclaimed champion of Spain FEDDI 2026 in adapted swimming, solidifying its position as a benchmark in national inclusive sports.

During the reception, the minister congratulated the team for retaining the national title in the combined category, an achievement that underscores their leadership in inclusive sports. He also highlighted the role of adapted sports as a tool for inclusion and social cohesion, and reiterated the commitment of the Government of Canarias to policies that promote equal opportunities in the sports field.

On behalf of Club Natación Las Palmas, one of its technicians expressed gratitude for the institutional reception and the support from the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports. He emphasized the commitment of the regional government to inclusive sports and the recognition of the club's work, highlighting the efforts of its technical management and the group of athletes with intellectual disabilities, who are a source of great pride for the entire entity.
The team, comprising fifteen athletes and their technical staff, also delivered an outstanding performance in the championship, securing a second place in the women's category and a third place in the men's category, which further strengthens its prominent position in the national adapted swimming scene.
