The Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council highlighted that the judicial decision, notified this Monday, "endorses" the management carried out for this traditional event. The institution emphasizes that Three Kings' Night is part of the city's cultural and festive program, and that efforts are made to reconcile these activities with respect for neighborhood coexistence.
The judicial resolution dismisses the main claims presented by 28 plaintiffs, including a neighborhood association. The document rejects the request for economic compensation of 2,000 euros per person and does not impose legal costs on the council.
“"The ruling dismisses that the celebration of the event constituted an infringement of acoustic regulations, as well as the existence of a violation of fundamental rights related to physical and moral integrity, personal and family privacy, or the inviolability of the home."
Furthermore, the ruling does not deem it necessary to relocate the Three Kings' Night celebration or condemn the City Council to adopt additional measures. It argues that, as a specific and festive event of limited duration, it does not meet the jurisprudential requirements to consider a violation of fundamental rights.
