The National Police has intercepted a package containing narcotics at Las Palmas I prison, where 18.30 grams of cocaine and 5.27 grams of heroin were found hidden in the seams of towels.

The seizure took place on May 4, when the canine unit dogs, Harry and Alma, alerted to the possible presence of drugs in a package containing towels. This discovery is part of the regular controls carried out at the correctional facility.
Following the dogs' alert, the shipment was subjected to a scanner examination, which revealed anomalies in the seams of the garments. Subsequently, officers confirmed that narcotic substances were concealed inside, which were immediately confiscated.

"This is a routine service within the framework of control and prevention actions against the entry of narcotic substances into the facility."
