The intervention, focused on the vicinity of Naos, aims to mitigate flooding through the construction of a drainage network and a storm tank. This phase of the work partially affects the perimeter of the Open Mall shopping center, forcing vehicle traffic to be reduced to a single lane in each direction in the area closest to the commercial facilities.
Meanwhile, the previous works started in April near the National Police headquarters are in their final stage. Once the paving of this section is completed, normal traffic will be restored in the area. The other lanes in the currently affected section will remain closed with protective fencing for much of August.
The project, which has an investment of nearly 1.4 million euros, covers the section between the roundabout at the Valterra Health Center and the access to Naos. The key piece of the work is the underground storm tank, designed to store more than 3,000 tons of water and prevent the accumulations recorded during heavy rainfall events.
