The Civil Guard has dismantled a criminal group allegedly responsible for two violent robberies committed on July 26 at commercial establishments in Agüimes.

The investigation, focused on incidents in Playa de Arinaga and Cruce de Arinaga, identified an organized structure with specific roles for each member. While one individual carried out the robberies, others provided surveillance and logistical support during the escape.
In the first robbery at a shop in Playa de Arinaga, the perpetrator used a fake firearm to threaten staff and steal the cash register, taking approximately 600 euros. Hours earlier, the same individual attempted a robbery at a business in Cruce de Arinaga using the same method, though no money was obtained.
Video surveillance analysis was crucial to reconstructing the events. Officers detected a vehicle linked to the suspects repeatedly near the affected establishments, confirming the group's coordinated actions.
As a result of the operation, three people were arrested between July 28 and 29, and a fourth remains under investigation. The operation was coordinated with various police units investigating similar crimes across Gran Canaria.
