The Valle Colino shelter in Tenerife reported a new case of cat abandonment this Wednesday, with animals found at the center's entrance.

The Valle Colino shelter has publicly denounced a new incident of animal abandonment. Several kittens were found this morning at the entrance of its facilities, inside a carrier and a cage, as if they were disposable objects.
Through its social media channels, the organization has described the situation as "serious" due to the "total saturation" the center is currently experiencing. They emphasized that leaving animals at the door does not constitute a rescue act, but rather an irresponsible transfer of a problem to an organization already operating at its resource limits.
Valle Colino stated that each animal entering without control means "more stress, more burden, and fewer resources for everyone else," labeling such actions as a display of "irresponsibility, selfishness, and abandonment."

"Stop thinking that the shelter is a place to come, leave animals, and disappear without consequences."

The center has announced it will take the necessary legal measures, reminding that external security cameras have recorded the events. Furthermore, they have informed about the adoption timelines: 21 days for adult cats and one month for kittens. This incident adds to the constant pressure faced by animal protection centers due to the continuous intake of homeless animals and unwanted litters.
